WaterGuard is a product that works behind the scenes so its place in the waterproofing system doesn’t often get highlighted, but this pair of before and after photos takes a close look at how it fits in to the basement. WaterGuard is installed where the floor meets the wall then covered with a new layer of concrete. Its purpose is to collect moisture that’s seeping into the basement and redirecting it to the sump pump where it can be sent out and away from the home. If you’re in need of a product to help facilitate water out of your basement, WaterGuard is here for you!
This basement in Berne, NY had damaged drywall from water seepage. Mold growth was a concern so the homeowner had to remove the drywall and find a proper solution. Adirondack Basement Systems came in and installed EverLast wall restoration panels where the portions of drywall were removed. These panels are made of inorganic durable material that is waterproof and mold resistant. It also features an R-13 insulation rating and is warrantied for 50 years!
This homeowner had some sizable cracks in their basement walls that leaked water from the outside. Luckily, the fix to this is simple, noninvasive, and clean-looking. While the installation process looks like a one-step job, it actually involves three closely-related steps. The first is a flexible sealant that goes across the entire length of the crack. Then, a strip of a porous, flexible foam is installed over the crack. Finally, an impermeable membrane is attached to the wall on both sides of the foam strip. The FlexiSpan works in all conditions and is not affected by any sort of pressure or movement with the walls. It also won’t leak or reopen like mortar-based repairs, making it a strong, reliable solution to any leaking basement cracks.
This Pattersonville basement was always wet, so we installed a CleanSpace footer to combat the source of the problem.
This pair of photos highlights the difference our CleanSpace and WaterGuard products can have on a basement. Both of these products do an excellent job at transforming a basement from a gathering place for water to a dry, protected area. The primary job of both products is to gather seeping water and direct it away from the basement to a sump pump where it is sent out of the home.
