Recently, in the picturesque town of Speculator, NY, a homeowner approached us with a common yet pressing issue—their crawl space was besieged by water seeping down the basement walls onto a gravel floor. Penetrating moisture not only threatened the integrity of their home’s foundation but also provided a potential breeding ground for mold and mildew. Understanding the urgency of the situation, our Customer Care team quickly sprang into action, coordinating a comprehensive home inspection. Our System Design Specialist, equipped with expertise and a keen eye for detail, diagnosed the source of the problem during the visit and proposed an effective solution—installing our state-of-the-art CleanSpace system. Designed to encapsulate a crawl space, CleanSpace creates a moisture barrier that protects against water intrusion, vastly improving the air quality and energy efficiency of the home. Our production team, comprising a foreman and skilled installers, arrived at the site ready to transform the homeowner’s crawl space. With precision and care, they cleared the area, laid down the CleanSpace liner completely covering the crawl space's surfaces, creating a dry and vented space beneath the home. The homeowners were amazed by the rapidity and smoothness with which the work was carried out, and the cleanup process left their property as if we were never there—minus the water problem, of course. This basement was a pretty big space and that gave water plenty of opportunities to get in and cause damage. The first step in getting this basement back to a dry, protected condition was to survey the area, checking to see where the primary sources of entry were, how much water was coming in, and see what the extent of the damage was. Then, we recommended some products to the customer and outlined what the most effective course of action would be. Once both sides were on the same page and the homeowner was happy with the decision, it was time to install!
The first step in the process was measuring and clearing out a space at the joists for the WaterGuard system to go. WaterGuard goes where the floor and wall meet, positioned perfectly to collect seeping moisture from either side. They then feed into the TripleSafe which sends the water out through the buried discharge system and to the LawnScape Outlet located a safe distance away from the house. The TripleSafe has a three pump system that automatically detects increasing levels of water and turns on the more powerful pump to keep up. There’s also a built-in backup battery that will keep the TripleSafe running even in the event of a power outage. Along the walls we installed a floor to ceiling CleanSpace system to act as a vapor barrier, keeping moisture from getting in and redirecting it to the WaterGuards. Finally, to help keep the air dry and the humidity to a minimum, we installed the compact, yet powerful, SaniDry Sedona. The SaniDry is a top of the line dehumidifier perfect for any sized basement or crawl space.
