Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Basement Boost in Guilderland, NY
This job involved a lot of different products across different sectors. Waterproofing and foundational support were the two focal points for this basement and we put equal emphasis on each to bring this space back to its highest potential in no time. Let’s break this down into two sections: the waterproofing portion of the job and the foundational support.
For the waterproofing, a number of products were used to create an overarching defensive team to protect the basement from moisture. First, there’s the WaterGuard system which collects water seeping in from the walls and floor then redirects it to the sump pump, which is a TripleSafe in the case of this home. The TripleSafe is a fantastic choice for basements that experience different levels of flooding because of its three-pump system that automatically switches depending on how much water is coming in. Attached to the TripleSafe’s drainage system on the outside of the house is an IceGuard that keeps the water flowing even in freezing temperatures. Finally, for a bit of dehumidification, is the SaniDry Sedona, a compact, yet powerful dehumidifier that can fit in tight spaces and keep the moisture in the air to a minimum, thus improving the air quality and preventing water damage or mold growth.
Now, let’s take a look at the foundational support. The one and only product used in this department were PowerBraces, 22 to be precise. PowerBraces are a great product to combat bowing walls and put a stop to them, giving your foundation a boost. Plus, they also have the ability to be tightened and help correct the buckling walls over time. PowerBraces are neat, clean, and provide no disruption to the basement—and no excavation of any kind is needed! All the components of the PowerBrace are zinc-coated, which prevents rust and keeps the product working at its optimum level!
This basement is back to where it needs to be, and it’s all thanks to products like these!
