Repairing a Foundation Crack in Chestertown, NY
Challenge
A homeowner in Chestertown, NY contacted Adirondack Basement Systems when they noticed a crack on the outside of their foundation. With paneling inside their basement, they weren't sure if the crack followed through to the interior and were worried about water seeping in. We sent one of our certified basement specialists to do a thorough inspection and provide the best possible solution to the homeowner.
Solution
Upon removing the paneling in the basement where they suspected a crack, their suspicions were confirmed. There was a hairline crack that ran the full height of the wall. Our Design Specialist proposed using the FlexiSpan system to repair the crack. FlexiSpan consists of a high-viscosity polyurethane polymer layer, a drainage layer, a second layer of the polymer and a drywell to collect any water from the drainage. The homeowner decided to use this system to repair their crack and were happy with the results. This permanent solution has provided them with peace of mind that their wall will not be damaged by water seepage.
