Wall Crack Repair in Guilderland, NY
Challenge
A basement in Guilderland, NY had a few vertical hairline cracks that were causing some water seepage. One of the cracks extended the entire height of the wall, while the other formed around a pipe that was installed through the foundation wall. The homeowner tried to seal one of the cracks themselves with hydraulic cement, but it proved to be unsuccessful. Looking for a permanent solution, the homeowner contacted Adirondack Basement Systems to get a free estimate on fixing both cracks.
Solution
Upon arriving to the homeowners house, our design specialist took measurements and did a thorough inspection of the foundation. He found that the cracks were not caused by any structural issues, so FlexiSpan was the ideal solution for the homeowner. FlexiSpan repair starts by sealing the crack with a high-viscosity polyurethane polymer to create a durable yet flexible seal. A secondary layer of drainage is then adhered over the crack with a strong epoxy and covered with another layer of the polyurethane polymer. Unlike hydraulic cements, FlexiSpan stays bonded with wall movement even through freeze/thaw cycles. The homeowner now has a permanent solution that he can trust not to fail!
