Waterproofing a Basement in Schenectady, NY
Challenge
Homeowners in Schenectady, NY had water concerns in their basement. They had an existing sump pump, but it was not efficient enough to carry water out of the basement. There was often water leaking through the basement where the floor met the basement walls. The homeowners knew that they needed a new sump pump at the very least so they contacted Adirondack Basement Systems to receive a free estimate on a solution. We sent our design specialist, Jon Roz to their home to do a thorough inspection and figure out which waterproofing products would best suit their home.
Solution
Jon performed the inspection in their basement and did find that the customers needed a new sump pump installed. He recommended the TripleSafe sump pump because it features two separate, powerful M53 Zoeller pumps and a battery powered back up pump in the event power goes out. Around the perimeter of the basement he proposed installing WaterGuard XL and PolyDrain. This perimeter drainage system is ideal because it can be serviced through access ports unlike exterior drainage systems. On the outside of the home, we installed a Lawnscape to direct any water from the gutters away from the home and IceGuards to prevent water being discharged from freezing in colder months. Together these products will successfully protect the homeowner's basement from any water damage.
