A New Basement Floor in Broadalbin, NY
Challenge
A homeowner in Broadalbin, NY was concerned about their wet basement. Since it was a partially finished space, it was important for them to keep their basement dry and prevent ruining any belongings. While at the Saratoga Home Show, they stopped at the Adirondack Basement Systems booth and spoke to a few of our employees about their basement concerns. They were set up for a free estimate with one of our certified basement specialists. Upon visiting the homeowner, our design specialist addressed their concerns and did a thorough inspection to figure out what the most ideal solution would be based on what they were looking to do.
Solution
He found that the basement was in need of a proper waterproofing system including a sump and perimeter drainage. With our SuperSump, WaterGuard, and Trench Drain installed they had a top of the line system to keep their basement dry. WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of the basement while Trench Drain was installed around the water tank heater. They also decided to have new flooring installed and chose to go with our ThermalDry flooring in Parquet style. Since each tile is interchangeable and does not require nails or adhesives, it's the perfect option for their basement. Each tile is raised off of the ground with pegs which creates a vapor barrier and thermal break between the cement and the tiles. Now that the installation is complete, the homeowner can enjoy their partially finished basement without worrying about any belongings getting damaged by water or mold.
