Challenge

A homeowner in Latham had a finished walk-out basement with persistent water problems. Due to these issues he was concerned with what might be behind the walls and beneath the carpets such as mold and mildew. Since their basement was used for living space the homeowner wanted to finish the basement correctly with a full waterproofing system and new flooring. They reached out to Adirondack Basement Systems for their free estimate with one of our certified basement specialists. We sent out our basement finishing expert, Tim VanKempen to do a thorough inspection and talk to the homeowner about what they were looking to have done in their basement.

Solution

Tim completed an inspection then sat down with the homeowners to discuss their options. For the waterproofing system itself they chose to go with our SuperSump which features a powerful M-53 Zoeller Pump, WaterGuard perimeter drainage system, and a SaniDry XP for dehumidification. For new flooring they decided to go with MillCreek Faux Wood Flooring. This is a durable floating floor that doesn't require nails or adhesives and is stain-resistant. They will never have to worry about rotting wood, mildew or mold.
